Customized Fiber Optic Connectors

Industrial Fiber Optics is a US manufacturer of standard, semi-custom, and custom fiber optic connectors for the sensor, industrial, and medical industries. All designs are based on industry standards although, in some cases, are optimized for some specific cable constructions.

Most of the connector components are fabricated from raw materials (such as Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Nylon, Acetal, etc.) and assembled in our facility in Tempe, Arizona. Some common items such as dust caps and springs are purchased from well-established ISO 9001 suppliers. Zirconia ferrules are sourced from international suppliers when the economics, raw materials, and manufacturing expertise dictate.

The fiber optic connectors we specialize in are:

• SMA (905, 906, and high-power)
• ST
• FC

The reasons why one would need or want a custom connector are:

1. Standard products are not available in the proper hole size(s).
2. Products do not meet specific technical requirements.
3. An optimized design that would reduce labor content in assemblies.
4. Simplify bill of materials or cost reduction.
