Straightened Optical Fibers

Industrial Fiber Optics, Inc. has developed a process to remove the curl from lengths of plastic optical fiber (POF). POF is supplied from the manufacturer on spools which results in a definite curl to the fiber. While the straightened fibers are not perfectly straight, the radius of curl is increased such that short lengths of fiber are effectively straight.
